It may take a minute to figure out where Pascale Rivault is from, given that her acting credits include the Italian 5 donne per l’assassino (1974), the German Die unfreiwilligen Reisen des Mortiz August Benjowski, the French La Pluie sur la dune (1975), and the English Lady’s Chatterley’s Lover (1981). But Mr. Skin will stop your confused contemplation and confirm she’s French, even though her resume is a little like a confused airport terminal. As an actress, she brings a classy sensuality to thrillers like Five Women for the Killer (1974) as Dr. Lidia Franzi, and Operation Lady Marlene (1975) as Betty. Sadly, not even Pascale’s topless presence as Clarisse de l’Esperance could save The Beast (1977), a controversial (and ultimately banned) horror film about a gorilla who attacks women while spewing monstrous amounts of semen. Perhaps because her topless, bottomless, pleasured-by-a-bed-frame character doesn’t actually have sex with the blasting beast, Pascale’s career survived the controversy, and she even went on to the uncredited role of Gilberte in the classy production L’Incorrigible (1975), aka Incorrigible, with Geneviève Bujold. From there, though, it was a mini-series and three films before she retired from the life of an actress—although it should be mentioned that two of those films were pretty damn impressive in the world of Mr. Skin. As Solange in The Honeymoon Trip(1976), original title Le voyage de noces, she goes full-frontal naked in the tanning room and the spa. She also did a nice little turn as Hilda in the English-language Lady Chatterley’s Lover (1981) with Sylvia Kristel.
